MilWALKee Walks Community Advocates Coalition Launches Crosswalk Actions

MilWALKee Walks is a program administered by the Wisconsin Bike Fed. We believe all vulnerable users of our road need to be protected as much as possible. During the month of September our staff is partnering with local community groups, Business Improvement Districts, and volunteer residents to bring awareness to the dangers people driving cars and streets pose to people walking.

We have created Crosswalk Actions. This is a series of events along the Milwaukee Pedestrian High Injury Network as included in the Milwaukee Pedestrian Plan. We arrive dressed to call attention to people walking and the need for drivers to slow down and yield to people at marked and unmarked crosswalks. We invite you to join us, even if you do not live or work in these corridors, and we can train you to be a Walk Ambassador in your neighborhood.

We invite the public and media to attend training and actions sessions coming up
